Your Local Radio Station

Switch Dunmow …..

Is the brain child of Jacky Rom, the Station Controller.
Over 2 years ago Jacky, who also runs the Arts Centre Dunmow, was struggling to let everyone know what goes on in The Arts Centre.
One day she thought “Let’s have a radio Station” and now 2+ years on it’s become a reality.  Switch Dunmow launched on Monday 6th of January 2014 with over 50 Volunteers. They were all amazed that over 3,000 people listened in the first month.

Now they are listened to by over 20 countries world wide and have over 34,000 listener sessions per annum!

Although Switch is a Community Radio Station, all the presenters love the idea of reaching further afield.

Switch Dunmow has a show for everyone, with easy listening throughout the day and live shows from 6pm.
If you are interested in joining us a volunteer do get in touch!

Record of the Week

Each week we aim to bring you a track that we feel deserves a wider audience.  This week’s choice is “The Reformation” by Jo  Harman .

Born in Luton, Harman grew up in the Devon village of Lustleigh, before moving to London to study for a BAPA(BA Performing Arts).[

In 2011, she self-released Live at Hideaway, whilst she developed her song craft toward making a debut studio album.[

In 2014, she and her band mates in 'Jo Harman and Company' were nominated for seven British Blues Award. She appeared at BluesFest where her performance was recorded by the BBC and released as a live album.[

In February 2017, she released her second studio album People We Become, the first single from which When We Were Young, featuring backup vocals from Michael McDonald, achieved BBC Radio 2 playlist status. Click here to hear the track.
